AS IF WE WERE DUST

Starting from the observation of urban space and its transformation processes, the artist begins to work on the concept of flow to study shapes, patterns and modular structures that rule the contemporary city. The research is translated into the scene through a brick structure positioned orthogonally in the stage. The performance develops in a slow process of brick manipulation and repositioning, in sequential sequences that gradually become chaotic and disordered. Bricks are organised, dropped, destroyed, scattered in the stage. Between traces of dust and brick remains left in space, the artist places his body, measures distances and forms that emerge between the voids. The collected measurements are subsequently reworked in real time by the artist in a choreographic score and presented as a continuous stream of bodily postures.

Partendo dall’osservazione dello spazio urbano e dei suoi processi di trasformazione, l’artista inizia a lavorare sul concetto di flusso per studiare le forme, i patterns e le strutture modulari che regolano la città contemporanea. Le ricerche sono tradotte in scena attraverso una struttura di mattoni posizionata ortogonalmente nello spazio. La performance si sviluppa in un lento processo di manipolazione e riposizionamento dei mattonii, in sequenze ordinate che gradualmente divengono caotiche e disordinate. Gli mattoni vengono organizzati, fatti cadere, distrutti, sparsi nello spazio. Tra e tracce di polvere e i residui dei mattoni lasciati nello spazio, l’artista posiziona il suo corpo, misura le distanze e le forme che emergono tra i vuoti. Le misurazioni raccolte, sono successivamente rielaborate in tempo reale dall’artista in una partitura coreografica e presentate come un flusso continuo di posture corporali.
